We are seeking a motivated individual for a Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate position focused on understanding the activity and specificity of novel gene editing systems in mammalian cells. This person will use their strong molecular and cell biology skills to solve a variety of challenges as an integral part of the Genome Editing team. Candidates should be enthusiastic, passionate, have attention to detail, and a desire to change the world.

About The Role

 

  • Perform experiments to test new genome editing technologies in immortalized mammalian cell lines in a high throughput manner
  • Collaborate with Discovery, mRNA, Biochemistry & Protein Engineering and therapeutic teams to expedite characterization of novel enzymes
  • Gather and analyze experimental data under the direction of the group leader
  • Prepare accurate and timely data summaries and contribute to writing of reports, papers, and patent manuscripts
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

About You

 

 

What will enable you to thrive as our new Research Associate will be:

 

 

  • BS or MS in biology, genetics, molecular biology, or a related discipline
  • Substantial experience transfecting mammalian cells using electroporation
  • 3+ years of relevant research experience using molecular biology skill sets
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Track record of challenging oneself to enhance scientific skills and knowledge

 

Preferred additional qualifications:

 

 

  • Hands on experience with gene editing technologies in mammalian cells preferred
  • Skilled with flow cytometry, qPCR, ddPCR, and/or NGS as readouts of cell editing
  • Experience working in a cross collaborative team including bioinformaticians, downstream processing engineers, and project managers.
